Count My Blessings

Dear Good Lord, thank you for blessing me
like water to the starving man in the desert,
You have given me troubles for you to watch as I overcome them
but also blessings more numerous than the grains of sand
that warn my heart with every great or shallow breath of your beauty.

Dear Good Lord, please forgive me for not thanking you enough-
This wayward sheep, thinking I could
make it in this wondrous world alone;
I return for Your most loving, unconditional protection.
I offer the most meager thing, Art, I can give;
Meager but also the most sincere for it is full of Love.

Dear Good Lord, I may not finish this
before another cousin arrives to be let into
the spacious life you have provided me;
So I will allow this other blessing
to soothe me like a rock letting water wash over it.

Dear Good Lord, the blue, earnest blessings bestowed
upon Your pitiful and desirous children
press with the warmth of a mystriouss flower’s petal
arching toward the brightness of dawn to draw
close in a gala storm the ring of Love.

Dear Good Lord, I dreamt I was child climbing next to the coffee pot
in the kitchen when Bernice, an agent of yours, protected me
from spilled hot coffee on my leg;
She rubbed cool butter all over the burning coffee - simply it worked.
I would everyone had enough butter and wits to rub it in
and end this virus - this loving test from You that Your loving children will pass.
Many gracious thank yous for Your kind deeds .
